Keralam - 56.71% of India's cardamom cultivation area, concentrated heavily in the Idukki district, the country's leading cardamom-growing region. Karnataka - 35.91%, spread across the Western Ghats belt. Tamil Nadu - 7.38%, rounding out India's approximately 70,410 hectares under small cardamom cultivation.
